Johnny Cash è stato senza alcuna ombra di dubbio uno dei maggiori esponenti della musica country.

Esordisce nel mondo della musica nel 1955, incidendo alcuni singoli, e il suo primo lavoro risale al 1957 con Johnny Cash With His Hot and Blue Guitar.

Nel 1960 vi è la svolta, purtroppo, nella sua vita. L'album gospel che andò a incidere Hymns by Johnny Cash ebbe un grandissimo successo, e lo portò a far uso di droghe(sonniferi e anfetamine) per sopportare il duro ritmo della vita musicale, portandolo anche a guai giudiziari ed overdosi.

Oltre alla carriera musicale, di questo grande autore va ricordata la carriera televisiva e cinematografica, quando nel 1969 porta avanti un programma televisivo sul network ABC e quando, nel 1971, interpreta una parte nel film A gunfight.

Il 12 settembre del 2003 Johnny Cash muore a causa di complicazioni diabetiche.

Però ammetto di aver conosciuto prima la versione di johnny che quella dei nin..che mi pare l'avessero scritta riferendosi ai problemi con la droga, almeno così avevo letto..confermi?
