The Life and Times of a HT-aholic

Hi, my name is Adam and I am a HT-aholic. I thought I'd write a bit about my HT life in the hope that some of you might find some common ground and help me through.

A day in the life of a HT-aholic

7.30am - Wake up
7.45am - Quickly turn on laptop while the kettle boils for a quick check.
8am - Leave for work
8.25am - Arrive at work. Turn on machine. Fire up firefox, log in.
8.30am - Respond to HT mails, click Forum, reply to pretty much every thread currently participating in, read the new ones, reply to them, maybe start a few new ones.
8.45am - Official start time for work. I'll just spend another few minutes on here.
9am - Whoops, still on HT – quickly check for new messages.
9.30am - Oops its 9.30? Better do some work.
9.35am - What time does my YA match end? Better check.
9.50am - Wow, 15 minutes work done! Impressive. Much going on in the forums? Hmm few to reply to
10am - Yep, I'd better do some work
10.30am - Quick cigarette break.
10.35am - Fire HT back up (it was turned off while I went for a ciggie in case my boss clicked on it, he's a bit nosey!). Wonder if that player I am keeping an eye out for is on the TL today – quick check, nope.
11.15am - I've done another half hours work, but I've seen the ticker moving in the corner, few Supported team logins, I know that much. What was the rest? Ooh, HT mails. Damn, just federation applications and an Uptime review – 99.9%, well done HT!
11.30am - Any new messages? No? Better do some work.
12pm - Go to get lunch.
12.10pm - Back to eat at my desk. Watch BBC iPlayer, flick back and forward to HT.
1pm - Lunch officially over. Quickly click a few links. Questions forum, click, open, google 'Hattrick Team Spirit', 'Hattrick Arena Calculator', Hattrick Injury Calculator' or variants thereof and post the link to the n00b.
1.30pm - Do some work, make it look like I am busy.
1.45pm - Oh. My. God. My YA training report should be up. Come on HT be kind.
1.46pm - Dissapointment. I even tried training individual secondary in order to get a few more reports and I got 2. Both disastrous keepers. Thank you very much. Right I'm going to do work now, I'm that annoyed.
3pm - Yep – I did over an hours work. Now, whats happening. Ooh, loads of messages, lets reply to all of these then. Couple of HT mails too. Yay! I got a friendly in a small country.
3.30pm - That time already? Better go for my afternoon ciggie.
3.35pm - Lets have a HT check. Wonder if I should check the TL again....PM Brilliant, DEF Solid, Passing Solid. Nope. Lets amend it a bit. Wowzers – this guy has Titanic passing – if only I had £2m more.
4pm - Anything happening? No? I wonder if my opponent this weekend has bought anyone? No? Well how shall I approach the game?! I'm going to lose midfield. Counter attacks. Now where is that CA calculator link? Google time. Hmmm I can get an Outstanding CA rating with just 3 defenders. Tempting, 3-5-2 CA. Set that as a line up for the time being.
4.30pm - Yes, the other GB forums have their training threads open – that means just a few hours till ours.
5.30pm - Last hours work, leaving now.
6pm - Get home. Other half making dinner, kids watching TV – I'll get the laptop.
6.30pm - Dinner is ready, that was a quick half hour.
7pm - Watching TV with the kids, but have the laptop next to me. I'm bidding for a new player...click...raise....click...raise...3 mins to go...2 mins....1 min...damn outbid...raise...3 mins...2 mins...Outbid...raise...3 mins...2 mins...1min...0 min...0 min...refresh....refresh....Bidding is finished!! Yes! I got him. Damn, did I need him? No. He'll do though, the euphoria is gone from winning the auction.
7.55pm - Right, bed kids. Just 5 mins till training and Daddy wants to see the ticker change with a Pop!
8.05pm - Damn, missed ticker. Click training.
8.07pm - Nice! I had 2 pops. Shall I sell? Check HO. Form monkey has not been kind. I really hate the form monkey.
8.10pm - After consulting HT friends, decide to list 1 player, not the other than popped.
8.15pm - Watch TV
9pm - Back on HT.
9.15pm - I've clicked everything in HT. Twice. What shall I do? Write a HT article – refer to the top of this page!

So, I hope this helps you to realise that you are not alone! And yes, I just spent 30 minutes writing this!
